ΘΝΞ LOVE 4 HAITI JEAN DRIVE!!!
Here to interrupt regularly scheduled programming......
The butterflies of the Zeta Chapter of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc.(click for our website) will be collecting jeans for Aeropostale and Do Something Org. These jeans will be sent to Haiti as part of their Annual Teens for Jeans Drive. This year's focus is Haiti of course. They can be any brand of jeans. If you are in the Atlanta area and want to donate to the Georgia State University chapter of Theta Nu Xi, email me at misssd@misssolowdolowmusic.com. It's a great and easy way to give back. Click HERE for more information about the jean drive. We appreciate all your help and support. Tell your friends.
Mr. May 25th Himself
Brother B.O.B. aka Bobby Ray has dropped the May 25th mixtape for all of us to hear. As many are awaiting his first album(that will be dropping May 25th), this mixtape was sent to ease us and I suspect it is apart of a Groundbreaking Series. It has eased me much while I've been writing this paper about "Texting while Driving". I must say that B.O.B. is one of those artists for me that doesn't need a collabo. He can definitely hold his own. There are so many artists out there nowawdays who really can't hold their own and need a feature or collaboration with someone. That's wack. But don't think any different of these comments because I threw some collabos on this post. Other hot tracks are "The Biz" and "Nothin On You" of course.
Anyway, enjoy my favorite tracks from the mixtape cause you can download the full thing elsewhere. Tracklist dolow.
"Bet I" featuring Playboy Tre
"Gladiators" featuring J. Cole
"B is for B.O.B."
"Surprise Me"
Earthgang presents The Better Party
Yeah so this wonderful duo sent me their mixtape over the Holiday Break(I know that was so long ago) and I finally have chance to upload some of the tracks on there that I like. If you missed one of their previous tracks from my playlist, please look further dolow. Enjoy!
EarthGang is the byproduct of a delicate mixture of artistic passion, musical endowment, innately superior intellect and Southern upbringing. Born under a shade tree in Georgia, EarthGang is two of October's greatest products in cohesion for the purpose of pleasing the lobes. Pretty much Johnny Venus and E. Hobbes make some damn good music.
"Shampoo"
"Throwed"
"You Are"
Riddim of the Week - JoyRide
Once again, the Riddim of the Week is brought to you by Craighton Young, the southern boy with a Caribbean swag....
Last week I asked what riddim has been updated from the Showtime riddim? The answer was Unfinished Business for you Reggae lackers and learners. Up next, this week we have Joyride. I am not as familiar with this riddim as I thought. But here is some info about it ---> It's somewhat of an updated ragga riddim and it's truly a classic. Created by Dave Kelly in late '97, it continues to be one of the biggest riddims to date.
Tanya Stephens, Buju Banton, and Wayne Wonder have all had hits to this riddim. Check out a riddim fact from the boys at Jamrid and the Joyride riddim mix dolow.
From the early sixties and seventies, The most versioned riddims are more than 20 years old and originated at Coxone Dodd's legendary Studio One studio in Brentford Road, Kingston.
The Low Playlist
Volume 2, Issue 1.
I really missed playlists, so here they are! Last night, I had to work. I missed Lady Gaga and Elton John! Two of my favorite artists ever in life. Anyone who knows me, knows that I love Elton John and the crackhead who stole that CD out of my car shall rot in hell I say. I heard that Lady Gaga was going for the Tinkerbell look. I'm not hating on that. i love Tinkerbell if that's what she was really going for....
Anywho, I digress. My sister did tape it for me, so I will be watching it tomorrow night(I have to work tonight too and I have a test tomorrow!). I did catch that heffa Taylor Swift win the award for Album of the Year. I'm not gonna be the one to do it, but somebody is looking to assassinate her I hear.
Dolow, you can catch a new playlist with some lovely tracks on it. The Earthgang are these cats from Virginia I think...I think. They sent me their mixtape and they kinda give me the N.E.R.D. feel with a little bit of something else but I'm not sure what it is. Speaking of them, Lupe produced by N.E.R.D. is on the playlist. And the new Vivian Green is up through there too. I hate Drake but love Colin Munroe, so had to throw that in there. I really don't know what's up with Akon and Keri Hilson collaborating all the damn time. This is like their 3rd collaboration, but I'm all for Africa so that definitely had to be on deck. And I'm just loving this new Ryan Perfect. I even added that MJ track that I love so much. Reminiscent of last night's tribute. Damn to the 3D glasses!!! Riddim of the week is coming up!!!!!
1. Vivian Green - Beautiful
2. Earthgang - Acid in My Eye
3. Corinne Stevie - Cristal on the Moon
