Riddim of the Week - JoyRide
Once again, the Riddim of the Week is brought to you by Craighton Young, the southern boy with a Caribbean swag....
Last week I asked what riddim has been updated from the Showtime riddim? The answer was Unfinished Business for you Reggae lackers and learners. Up next, this week we have Joyride. I am not as familiar with this riddim as I thought. But here is some info about it ---> It's somewhat of an updated ragga riddim and it's truly a classic. Created by Dave Kelly in late '97, it continues to be one of the biggest riddims to date.
Tanya Stephens, Buju Banton, and Wayne Wonder have all had hits to this riddim. Check out a riddim fact from the boys at Jamrid and the Joyride riddim mix dolow.
From the early sixties and seventies, The most versioned riddims are more than 20 years old and originated at Coxone Dodd's legendary Studio One studio in Brentford Road, Kingston.
